Aemetis produces and markets biochemicals, renewable fuels, and food and feed products. The company is engaged in acquisition, development and commercialization of technologies that replace traditional petroleum-based products. Aemetis has operations in the US, India and Mauritius.

The company operates its business through two geographic segments: North America and India.

Aemetis’ North America segment owns and operates a 60 million gallon per year ethanol production facility located in Keyes, California, the US. The facility produces combined heat and power (CHP) through the use of a natural gas-powered steam turbine. In addition to ethanol, the Keyes plant produces wet distillers grains (WDG), corn oil, and condensed distillers solubles (CDS) and sell to local dairies and feedlots for animal consumption. The company sells its ethanol and WDG to J.D. Heiskell (J.D.) and J.D. in turn sells the ethanol to Kinergy and WDG to A.L. Gilbert. Kinergy markets and sells ethanol to petroleum refiners and blenders in Northern California and A.L. Gilbert markets and sells WDG to around 200 dairy and feeding operators in Northern California, the US.

The company’s India segment owns and operates a biodiesel production facility in Kakinada, India with a nameplate capacity of around 50 million gallon per year. The facility produces products such as biodiesel, crude glycerin, refined glycerin, and NRPO. Aemetis’ subsidiaries include AE Advanced Fuels, Inc., AE Biofuels, Inc., Aemetis Advanced Fuels Keyes, Inc., Aemetis Biofuels, Inc., Aemetis Facility Keyes, Inc., Aemetis International, Inc., Biofuels Marketing, Inc., Energy Enzymes, Inc, International Biofuels Ltd, and Universal Biofuels Private Limited.
