H.B. Fuller Company (H.B. Fuller or ‘the company’) formulates, manufactures and markets adhesives, sealants and other specialty chemical products globally. The company operates in 36 countries across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

The company’s operations are divided into five operating segments: Americas Adhesives, EIMEA (Europe, India, Middle East and Africa), Construction Products, Engineering Adhesives, and Asia Pacific.

H.B. Fuller’s Americas adhesives, EIMEA, Engineering Adhesives and Asia Pacific operating segments produce and supply industrial adhesives products for applications in various markets including durable assembly (appliances, filters, construction, automotive, electronics, windows, doors, wood flooring, textile such as footwear, and sportswear, among others), packaging (food and beverage containers, flexible packaging, consumer goods, and package integrity and re-enforcement, durable and non-durable goods). These products are also used for applications in other markets which includes converting (corrugation, folding carton, tape and label, paper converting, envelopes, books, multi-wall bags, sacks, tissue and towel), nonwoven and hygiene (disposable diapers, feminine care and medical garments), performance wood (windows, doors, wood flooring) and textile (footwear and sportswear).

The Americas adhesives operating segment includes a range of specialty adhesives such as thermoplastic, thermoset, reactive, water-based and solvent-based products. In FY2016, the Americas Adhesives segment reported revenues of $806.1 million, which accounted for 38.5% of the company’s total revenue.

The EIMEA operating segment includes adhesives component with the same range of products as Americas adhesives. In FY2016, the EIMEA segment reported revenues of $545.1 million, which accounted for 26% of the company’s total revenue.

The construction products operating segment includes products used for tile setting (adhesives, grouts, mortars, sealers, and levelers), flooring, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning and insulation applications (duct sealants, weather barriers and fungicidal coatings, and block fillers). In FY2016, the Construction Products segment reported revenues of $256.3 million, which accounted for 12.2% of the company’s total revenue.

The Engineering Adhesives operating segment produces and supplies high performance industrial adhesives to the transportation, electronics, medical, clean energy, appliance and heavy machinery markets. Engineering Adhesives sales are made through both a direct sales force and distributors. In FY2016, the Engineering Adhesives segment reported revenues of $245.2 million, which accounted for 11.7% of the company’s total revenue.

The Asia Pacific operating segment is similar to that of the Americas adhesives, with one exception. The Asia Pacific operating segment also includes caulks and sealants for the consumer market and professional trade, sold through retailers, primarily in Australia. Other adhesives sales are made through a direct sales force and distributors. In FY2016, the Asia Pacific segment reported revenues of $241.8 million, which accounted for 11.5% of the company’s total revenue.

Geographically, the company classifies its operations into three segments, namely the US, China, and all other countries. In FY2016, the US segment accounted for 41.5% of the company’s total revenues, followed by China with 12.3%; and all other countries with 46.2%.
