JSC Gazprom Neft is an integrated oil company operating in the Russian Federation, CIS and internationally. The company’s principal activities include exploration, production and development of crude oil and gas, production of refined petroleum products and distribution and marketing operations through its retail outlets. The company is a subsidiary of Gazprom, one of the largest gas producing companies in the world, which has a 95.7% stake in it.

During FY2016, the company produced a total of 640.2 million barrels of equivalent (MMBoe) of hydrocarbons, 447 million barrels (MMBbls) of crude oil and 1,158.9 billion cubic feet of gas. In FY2016, the company sold a total of 22.7 million tons of crude oil, 13.5 billion cubic meters of gas and 43.6 million tons of petroleum products.

Gazprom Neft manages its business through two operating segments: Downstream and Upstream. Downstream segment (refining and marketing) processes crude oil into refined products and purchases, sells and transports crude and refined petroleum products. The company’s refineries include the Omsk refinery, Moscow refinery and NIS refining complex. The NIS refining complex in Serbia has two refineries in Pancevo and Novi Sad. During FY2016, Omsk refinery has an installed annual capacity of 20.48 million tons of oil per year, the Moscow oil refinery has installed capacity of 10.71 million tons of oil per year, and Pancevo has an installed capacity of 3.1 million tons. During FY2016, the segment produced a total of 39.95 million tons of petroleum products including 9.2 million tons of gasoline and 12 million tons of diesel.

The marketing and distribution business includes the sale of petroleum products and exports. In terms of marketing, the company operated a total of 1,793 filling stations throughout Russia, the CIS and Europe in FY2016 with a total sales volume of 24.9 million tons. These include 1,173 stations in Russia, 200 stations in CIS and 420 stations in Eastern Europe.

Gazprom Neft produces a number of basic petrochemical products, including aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, paraxylene, orthoxylene, and toluene) and propane-propylene fraction (propylene-containing liquefied hydrocarbon gas). Basic petrochemical products are manufactured at all Gazprom Neft oil refineries (Omsk, Moscow and Yaroslavl). Gazprom Neft’s petrochemical products are produced in Moscow, Yaroslavl and Serbia.

In FY2016, the Downstream segment reported revenues of RUB1,414,366 million, which accounted for 91.5% of the company’s total revenue.

Upstream segment (exploration and production) includes the following group operations: exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas (including joint ventures results), oil field services. The exploration and production business explores, develops, and produces crude oil and natural gas. The company has extraction rights throughout eight of Russia’s oil-producing regions. Internationally, the company is involved in exploration and production projects in Angola, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Iraq, Romania, Serbia, and Venezuela.

During FY2016, the company had a total proved reserves of 11,218 MMBoe (including consolidated companies and joint ventures’ share) with 6,275 MMBoe of Gazprom Neft’s share.

In FY2016, the Upstream segment reported revenues of RUB131,242 million, which accounted for 8.5% of the company’s total revenue.
